At the heart of Tasteful Tribe is a collective of children of the African diaspora living collaborating with creatives in Togo, Africa. Our mission began as a response to cultural appropriation, where traditional prints are often misrepresented. Instead of merely calling out these instances, we, 'the children of the diaspora', have chosen to partner with African creatives, preserving and celebrating our culture through our own authentic creations.

Our founder, Phanie, is a proud child of the African European diaspora. Hailing from Togo and Ghana, and having lived in cities such as Hamburg, Brussels, and London, Phanie’s life experiences have profoundly influenced her approach to fashion. This rich tapestry of cultural influences is evident in every piece we create.

At Tasteful Tribe, we prioritise inclusion, positive representation, and integrity in all our endeavours. Our swimwear is more than just a business; it's about empowerment and creating something meaningful for our community, by our community. This ethos extends to our production process, where our limited-edition pieces are meticulously crafted by skilled tailors in Togo.
